A life-friendly business is a business designed to support your life, not take it over.

It is built around your real-world capacity, priorities and values, so you can grow a successful and sustainable business without sacrificing your health, your family, or the very life you are working so hard to create.

I’m Erin Thomas Wong, The Life-Friendly Business Mentor, author of How to Build a Life-Friendly Business and host of The Life-Friendly Business Podcast. For more than a decade, I’ve helped thousands of female solopreneurs build successful businesses that work with their real lives, not against them.

Why traditional business advice does not work for many women

Much of the business advice we see online assumes unlimited time, energy and support.

But if you are running a business alongside family life, caring responsibilities or other commitments, that model can leave you feeling overwhelmed and as though you are failing.

The truth is, you are not failing.

You are trying to follow a model that was never designed with your life in mind.

A life-friendly business starts from a different place.

Before setting goals or making plans, it asks:

What is realistically possible for me in this season?

When capacity is honoured, consistency becomes possible.

The principles of a life-friendly business

A life-friendly business is built on a few simple principles:

  • Your capacity matters.

  • Success should be defined on your terms.

  • Simplicity creates momentum.

  • Boundaries protect what matters most.

  • You do not need to do everything to build a successful business.

This approach is not about lowering your ambitions.

It is about creating a business that is sustainable, profitable and aligned with the life you want to live.

The Life-Friendly Business Framework™

In my book, How to Build a Life-Friendly Business, I share the five-step Life-Friendly Business Framework™:

  1. Own your role as CEO.

  2. Align your business with your values and priorities.

  3. Simplify what is not serving you.

  4. Shine by becoming visible in a way that feels authentic.

  5. Evolve as your business and life change.

These five steps help you build a business that supports your life and gives you the confidence to grow on your own terms.

Who a life-friendly business is for

This approach is designed for female solopreneurs who:

  • Want to grow their business without burning out.

  • Feel stretched too thin and overwhelmed by everything they “should” be doing.

  • Are juggling business with family or caring responsibilities.

  • Crave more clarity, confidence and control.

  • Want success to feel good, not just look good from the outside.

What success looks like

A life-friendly business allows you to:

  • Make decisions with more confidence.

  • Focus on what matters most.

  • Build momentum without constant overwhelm.

  • Create stronger boundaries.

  • Enjoy your business more.

  • Grow sustainably over the long term.

Start building your life-friendly business

If this approach resonates with you, here are some helpful next steps:

Because you are not failing at business.

You are simply following advice that does not fit your life.

And there is another way.
