Top 5 Visibility Mistakes For Female Solopreneurs
Are you aware of what might be holding you back from really getting yourself and your business out there?
Self-awareness is absolutely essential for female solopreneurs. You can’t overcome barriers to success if you’re not even aware they are there. Once you recognise what’s holding you back, you can take active steps to address these challenges, and regain control of your entrepreneurial journey.
During the Visibility Series on The Life-Friendly Business Podcast, together with a host of experts, we explored the mistakes that people make, and what we can do to avoid them.
Here are 5 Top Visibility Mistakes:
1. Creating an offer you want people to buy, and then not actually telling anyone about it…
“Build it and they will come” doesn’t necessarily ring true for small business owners. You need to be consistently telling people how you can help them so you can break through the noise. Don’t think it’s enough to hope people will find your website of their own accord.
2. Thinking that no-one wants to hear what you have to say…
This is a tough one because it comes down to feeling validated within yourself and believing that you have something of value to share. Do you believe you can help people? Do you believe in your product or service? If the answer is yes, it’s the mindset gremlins you need to overcome.
3. Not having an overall strategy…
Are you clear why you are doing what you’re doing? Do you have a bigger picture vision of the customer journey and where you want them to end up? Putting yourself out there all the time, but not clearly signposting people to their next step, is a sure fire way to get easily disheartened when people don’t actually buy from you.
4. Underestimating the power of your networks
Are you actively looking for collaborations? Or letting people know who you can help? Or letting people know how they could support you? Are you holding back from posting about what you do on your personal profiles for fear of what your friends might think? You could be missing out on valuable connections and let’s be real here, people are way too busy thinking about themselves to think too much about you.
5. Not being authentic…
So often we are afraid to be the real ‘us’, for fear of judgment and rejection. But you are your own USP. People buy people, so put your own stamp on what you do by being REAL. There’s nothing worse than showing up on social media as someone completely different to who you are in real life. Be genuine. Be authentic. Be YOU.
